Diane Young McCormack has spent a lifetime immersed in the SPORT of purebred dogs. What began as a childhood love of family pets grew into a calling that spanned decades — as a breeder of champion Dachshunds, an exhibitor at the highest levels of competition, and an esteemed judge for the American Kennel Club.
Her career includes unforgettable highlights: breeding and showing Spirit, the legendary Longhaired Dachshund who won Best of Variety at Westminster in 1996; international judging assignments in South Africa, Ireland, and China; and a reputation for judging with integrity and deep knowledge of the Breed Standard.
Diane is also a storyteller at heart. Her books capture the laughter, challenges, and triumphs of a life shaped by dogs. Through her writing, she invites readers to experience the unique world of dog shows — from the glamour of Madison Square Garden to the camaraderie of long road trips in a motorhome.
Today, Diane continues to share her knowledge, memories, and love for Dachshunds, honoring the legacy of her dogs and the community that has shaped her life.
